When Justin asked me to join the web team, the website had been designed for Yakima, Washington, & needed updating to show the company's expanded Seattle base. I gave it a quick make-over so that the website looks & works better as is, while a graphic designer creates a whole new look which I will translate into the same style of clean, easy-to-use pages.

I used to spend a lot of time learning web design tricks & sharing my stories at SiennaMoonfire.com, but now my personal website stands as a record of its times. Sometimes I do add a new recipe & I still collect links. If I really had the time to spare for my own work, I would focus for a week on revamping this website -- but the truth is that it doesn't really need it. It's simple, rich & (I hope) easy to navigate. I've learned heaps since coding its pages (or since the last time I updated them!), but my basic principle remains the same:
nothing beats content.

Inspired by a book created by Viggo Mortensen, sharing his very personal art, I decided it was high time I tried sharing my own art. I created this website as another learning exercise & playground for new tricks, like my slide show. I was learning to use a marvelous language called php, so this website was my cutting edge in 2004, heh. As they will, my skills have improved & multiplied since its creation (I remain enamored with php, which I combine with css for an easy-to-change look of the page, good clean html, & a MySQL database where it's needed), but when I get the time to spend on this one, I'll be adding photos, not messing about in the background (valuable work though it is).
